Romsey has a lively calendar of events.  The Beggars Fair is a popular street festival with music, dancing and street entertainment.  It is home to one of the oldest Agricultural and Horse shows, plus, there's an arts festival, carnivals and even a classic car show to enjoy.

Both the M27 and M3 are easily reached, providing fast links along the south coast and to London.  The A34 is also close by, linking you to the Midlands and the North.  The A36 runs a few miles to the west, providing a direct route to the West of England and South Wales.  For train travel, Romsey has a railway station with frequent services (Great Western Railway) on the route between Portsmouth and Cardiff.  Plus, Southampton offers fast connections into London on the South West Trains service.  Three airports are close to hand too: Southampton only 20 minutes away, Bournemouth 30 minutes and Heathrow just over 60 miles away.

Awbridge has an excellent selection of schools within easy reach.  The nearest being Awbridge Primary School itself (0.6) miles, which was rated ‘Good’ in their latest Ofsted inspection.  Other primary schools include: Lockerley Church of England (2.2 miles), Romsey Abbey (2.3 miles) and Wellow (2.6 miles).  At secondary level The Romsey School is 2.2 miles away and The Mountbatten School 3.8 miles away.  In the independent sector, the highly respected Hampshire Collegiate School is within 1.5 miles and has both prep and senior schools as well as boarding facilities.
